We have faced many and various challenges during this pandemic, and whilst the operational focus has recently intensified, your contribution and enthusiasm towards broader station life has continued and is much appreciated. The station continues to grow and diversify, and I welcome all new arrivals to RAF Wyton, especially members of the MoD Police over the coming months.
For many people, the pace of work, plus personal pressures, has been relentless, and our strength and resilience has been tested. Your capacity to continue to support national and community initiatives proves the high calibre of personnel that we have across Wyton. This edition of Eagleye shows the wide-ranging activities that everyone has been involved with including Remembrance Parades, sporting achievements and whole force community support events.
As we move towards the Summer, and as we learn to live safely with Covid-19, I am very optimistic that we will be able to offer a
breadth of opportunities for all to participate in. Jun 22 will be incredibly busy for the whole force at Wyton as we celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee with a traditional street party, Armed Forces Day, which will also be open to the public, and the Pathfinder March, recognising that 2022 is the 80th Anniversary of the Pathfinder Force. Also, a new International Day with BBQ and Hangar Bash, on 30 Jun 22, celebrating our shared heritage and relationships, will be open to all on station and will fully involve our colleagues at RAF Alconbury and RAF Molesworth.
There is also a full programme of Force Development activities, and D&I Engagement events, planned to support learning and development objectives for whole force and Adventure Training for military personnel. With so much available to take part in or simply support, all on station have the opportunity for an incredibly fulfilling start to 2022 and I look forward to seeing you all around the bazaars.
