SECTOR 5
BAND
STRIKES
A CHORD
During January 2025, staff from 866 (Immingham) and 1324
(Hawker Blackburn) Squadrons joined forces at Halifax
Barracks to unite budding musicians and beginners alike
under one roof to form the Sector 5 Band, with cadets present
from 152, 866, and 1324 Squadrons.
The goal is to provide opportunity to draw on existing
squadron repertoires and share that knowledge to create a
standardised sector repertoire that enables squadrons and
the wider sector to draw on a greater pool of musicians for
annual events, in addition to providing greater opportunities
to perform with friends from other units.
The training day saw a team of drummers join bell lyres and
a saxophonist to learn a few initial routines and ultimately play
together.
If you are interested in learning, even if you may be a
complete beginner, we would be delighted to welcome you

sector boundaries, so please ask your squadron staff to reach
out to oc.1324@rafac.mod.gov.uk and we will be happy to add
your unit to our monthly practice.
