The Charter Fair just won’t be the same without Bryn Wright
It is with great sadness that we tell you that our President, and Founder Member of the Thrapston Charter Fair, Bryn Wright, passed away in July.
He was a funny, kind hearted, and generous man. He always had a kind word (or hundred) to say to everyone.
Many will remember him walking around Thrapston, with his dog, Midge. I think they were out nearly all day, walking and chatting.
He and a group of others started the Fair as it is now in 1991. Bryn was the only original member left on the committee.
This year was the first one he had missed, although he was involved in all the planning. He has left a lasting legacy which all
Thrapstonians can be proud of.
I missed walking up and down the High
St with him, as we did every year, talking to everyone.
We were privileged to have had him on the Committee, to teach us all he knew.
He was one of Thrapston’s ‘characters’ He was a true legend. As someone commented on our web page: ‘a Bastion of the Community’. That really sums him up.
He will be sorely missed by everyone and I think nearly all Thrapston knew him.
We have lost a good friend, but he will always be in our thoughts and hearts.
Next year’s Charter Fair will be dedicated to Bryn.
