Thrapston Dreamers
Huge thanks for all who supported Space Wars and beyond...
Now that the curtain has come down on “Space Wars”, the latest production from Thrapston Dreamers, the team at the
theatre group want to thank the Thrapston community for their ongoing support for their work.
“Space Wars” was performed to audiences at the Plaza Centre recently, but it was only able to go ahead thanks to the community support that the Dreamers children and young people
have enjoyed. “Not only have
we had great support from
the parents and families of
our Dreamers, who work
both onstage and backstage,
but we continue to be lucky
enough to be supported by
others, too,” said Lindsay
Latimer, from the Dreamers
team. “They include a number
of Thrapston businesses, some
of which have supported us for
many of our productions, and
also fundraising groups and
events, which have kindly given
us grants to help to pay for the
8
hire of rehearsal and performance space. We could not do what we do without all of that support, and we are proud to continue to make Dreamers free for those young people who want to come along.”
It has been a busy summer for the Dreamers team: amid their rehearsals
for “Space Wars”, they also showcased their talents at the second stage (near the junction of High Street and Oundle Road)
during the Charter Fair.
And now they are preparing
for their next production - a pantomime to be staged in February next year. Children aged 5 to 16 who would like
to take part are invited to a registration session on Tuesday, 11th September (6pm-7pm)
at Thrapston Baptist Church. Look out for more information about the next production and registration, please visit the Dreamers website at https:// thrapstondreamers.com or their Facebook page (search Thrapston Dreamers).
