Essex DA
Since I last wrote, we have had another talk, “Grow your Onions” from John and Coral Bebbington.
We’ve had John and Coral come and speak to the DA previously, and we enjoyed it so much that we invited them to come again. Everyone that attended learnt a lot from them on how they grow their onions, as well as enjoying their laid back approach to speaking and humour that goes along with their talks. Thanks to John and Coral for coming down to us!
In addition, we held our Essex DA Mini Show on 17 July. We had 108 entries this year, which was great considering we haven’t been able to hold a show for two years owing to COVID and that this year has hardly been an easy one. A full list of prize winners are below.
Thanks to everyone that came along and entered, helped out in the kitchen to provide refreshments and/or visited our show.
Congratulations also to John Brackley
for winning our Essex DA Shield for the Pickling Shallot class, donated to the DA by the late Gordon Eves.
As I’ve said in the last couple of SV magazines, we still currently have a vacant Secretary position on our Essex DA committee. If anyone is interested in taking up this role, please get in touch.
