If you are not already aware of Funky
Lil Feet in our little town then here is a
little background to the lovely individual children’s shoe shop. Funky Lil Feet was originally started off 14 years ago in The Old Bakehouse by Jane Warne, a Podiatrist, who already had The Lilac Tree Clinic.
Jane had seen a real need for children’s footwear to be professionally fitted that included all the beautiful continental shoes, not just your run of the mill ‘chain store shoes’. She also wanted to include lovely footwear that children with orthotics or those who have limb disabilities could wear. The business was an instant success and went from strength to strength. Within the first month of opening, Jane was joined by Claire Fox. Jane retired four years ago and Claire took on the business full time and has continued to grow it. As the shop has grown so have the brands and the amount of local staff that are employed there. Many of you
will be familiar with Jo (Store Manager), Lucy, Becky, Sue, the two ‘Laurens’ and Sandra, who are all Thrapston based. Last year was the shops busiest ever and they are hoping to continue their success with this ‘Back
to School’ season. As a thank you to their ever loyal customers, they are running a competition to win a Years Supply of Shoes when you purchase your school shoes from them this summer. With traditional brands such as Start Rite, Geox and Petasil, to
the more continental styles from Beberlis and Camper, there really is something for everyone and with prices from £37 for a fitted leather shoe specifically for school wear then you can’t go wrong! If you haven’t been in, then now is the time to give them a try and don’t forget to enter the competition! Thrapston really does have some amazing individual small businesses and they rely on local custom to ensure the town continues to thrive.
