The Ship Inn really is a family affair, Rob and Andy Langridge are the brothers behind this welcoming hostelry and have been for nearly 40 years!

How long have you run The Ship
Inn? We have run The Ship Inn since
1985, mum and dad, Frank and
Dorothy, brother and sister, Andy,
Tina and me. We employed one person
to help mum in the kitchen and one
other person to help behind bar on
the weekends. We all lived in the pub
took very little wages and put money back in the business to convert the two barns in the car park and purchase the cottage next door and turned them into accommodation. Andy and I have been running the pub for the last 25 years. My wife Andrea has been doing the accounts and payroll for the last 16 years – so very much still a family run pub.

What beers do you have on tap?
Brewsters Hophead, Barnwell Bitter and Doombar.
Best selling tipple? San Miguel.
How many of the you work at The Ship Inn? Currently 17 people.
How have you seen drinking habits change? We used to be a younger
persons pub, but as we have gotten older and Oundle’s demographic has changed, we now serve an older professional/skilled tradesman/ women clientele with the younger people coming out later at night.
When was The Ship Inn established? The pub is 480 years old, and I believe was an Inn from then. More recently, it had to close in the
