food and drink area. There will also be a Festival Stage which will buzz with the sights and sounds of vintage inspired acts. Tower tours
will also run at the St Peter’s Church 210ft spire, and there will be a Teddy Parachute Drop from there as well. To round off the event, a Vintage Ceilidh Dance is planned for the evening.
With the aim of putting on a great event that brings together the community and attracts visitors, fund-raising will play an important part also. Local groups such as Volunteer Action, Oundle Care, Friends of St Peter’s Church and others will have the opportunity to raise funds through attractions they are putting on. On top of this, receipts from the Festival Grand Draw and overall profits form the Festival will be passed to a community fund for the benefit of local groups who have projects that will benefit the town and local community.
Chair of the Festival Committee Philip Amps commented: “A lot of hard work has already gone in to bringing back OVF in 2024. This time around we are looking to ‘up the ante’ with even more quality vintage attractions, and more community groups getting involved, whilst still keeping it a free event. Personally, I can’t wait to see the traction engines steaming into Oundle.”
The organisers are keen to hear from anyone with any vintage related displays, vehicles
or acts. To make contact or to find further details of the event, visit the website at www.oundlevintagefestival.co.uk
