The Gazette QARANC Association 5
Report from the Chair of the Association Trustees
As you read this edition of the Gazette may I remind you that this is the last production by our editor, Alison Spires; Alison is to retire. Alison has spent some five years in post, not only editing but refining and developing the Gazette – an excellent Gazette that is much admired by others. We all offer our thanks for a job very well done.
The advert is out for a new editor; the incoming editor will be supported by an Editorial Board and the central office ... do you think you could rise to the challenge?
The Media and Communications sub-committee have launched our new web site to much acclaim and there has been some incredibly positive comment from far and wide. We are now up to date and the work continues to ensure the site remains just that – up to date!
We are gradually recovering from the ravages of the pandemic and can resume our lives as they once
were, meeting up, face to face, attending functions, gatherings and simply having contact. At this point I would like to thank all members and Branches for their efforts in maintaining morale, aiding those in need and their broad support to each other; truly inspirational. Your efforts made the selection of this years QARANC Association Award extremely difficult; however, there must be a recipient and congratulations to Donna Price: an excellent example of our ethos.
Our thanks to the retiring trustees, Debra Ritsperis, Simon Davies and Adam McDonald; welcome to Alison Cripps, the replacement for Debra. We now have two vacant posts.
The Board of Trustees has now almost completed the work strands which came from our National Council for Voluntary Organisations review; this would not have been possible without the staunch support from the office staff – termed the ‘QA
SAS’ (Sue, Alison and Sarah)! We have reached a steady state and will now concentrate on developing the future; that future is helped by the fact that our investments have survived the economic uncertainties and continue to grow.
Stay safe and look after each other.
