 Obituary: Captain Dawn Jamieson
It is with deep sorrow that the death of our friend and colleague Captain Dawn Jamieson 208 (Liverpool) Field Hospital is announced. Captain Jamieson passed away on the 20 April 2021 in Woodlands Hospice in Liverpool after a short illness.
Born 20 September 1962 Captain Jamieson enlisted into the Army Reserve on 21 May 2002 and commissioned on 21 January 2003. Captain Jamieson went on to serve as amemberof208FieldHospitalforthe duration of her Army Reserve career, accumulating nearly nineteen years of service.
She was a Registered Nurse serving within 208 Field Hospital Nursing Squadron and was highly respected in her field of work. Captain Jamieson continued her training with the unit as recently as February 2021. She had previously deployed with the unit on OP HERRICK 6A and to BATUS, where she demonstrated outstanding commitment and dedication to her work.
Captain Jamieson had an exemplary military record and worked at Aintree and Leighton Hospitals as a Registered Nurse. During the COVID-19 pandemic she provided support to the mass vaccination programme.
Captain Jamieson suffered her own her own personal tragedy at the loss of her much-loved daughter Kerry Ann. She leaves a much-loved son Thomas, his wife Kayleigh, and her four beautiful grandchildren whom she adored.
Captain Jamieson will be remembered by her many friends and colleagues and those she has cared for, not only for her care and compassion, but her infectious and mischievous sense of humour and her love of Everton Football Club.
The Military family mourns the loss of a much-loved and highly respected colleague and friend. She has served our Nation and public services through an extraordinary life in both the NHS and the Army Reserve.

Captain Dawn Jamieson
        Hello Instagram!
       In October 2020 we launched our very own Instagram page as part of our branding overall and modernisation. In that time, we have posted over 60 times, accumulated over 700 followers, and amassed over 3,000 likes. Amazing numbers in just under a year, and that is all thanks to you.
The driving goal of the Association is to connect and support personnel of Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps, past and present. With the rise of social media, we have been able to connect with each other more than ever. Social media has allowed us to reconnect with old friends and form bonds with new ones. It has allowed us to keep up to date with news and events from all over the country, even all over the world.
Through Instagram we have added to our already established Facebook and Twitter pages. Its immediate success has seen us make new connections with our members, as seen in the incredible
numbers above.
We can post pictures
regularly and through Instagram stories we can
share our most recent
news and events. It has also enabled us to engage directly with our members even further. People can tag us in their photos and stories, keeping us updated on their exciting achievements and endeavours but also allowing us to share these with all our followers. Using our hashtags #qaranc or #qarancassociation we have been able to see and share the Passing Out Parades, sporting achievements, and the inspiring work of our members during the pandemic.
We are pleased to say our Instagram has been a great success, and it is only the start. We recently carried out some polls on our stories and it is clear you want to see more from us! So, this is a call to arms.
Firstly, be sure to follow us @ qarancassociation. Then, tag us or use hashtags in your photos and
stories, so we can see them and even share them. Also send us your pictures and announcements directly either by email or direct
message so we can post them. We are also on the hunt for people to take over our stories. Whether you are training, working or doing something recreationally, we want to hear and see more from our members.

Corporal Hannah Gray 256 Field Hospital
Corporal Gray is a reservist soldier with 256 Field Hospital. In her civilian role she is a staff nurse
at a cardiac paediatric intensive care unit in London. Within the Association she is on the Board of Trustees as the nominated Reserve Serving Solider. She also runs the Association’s Instagram page.
