countering CAS in the urban domain. The whole exercise was a complex activity with people in multiple locations, but the Troops efforts were greatly appreciated by the supported formations and a great deal of training value was gained.
The B Bty TACP, under SSgt Coleman, are now in country and ready to take on the mantle for ROTO 13 from the E Bty TACP, with all the great work and relationships they have established in Estonia. They have been integrated with B Bty for a long PDT cycle with multiple exercises in Germany, and their own consid- erable discipline burden additional to the normal theatre specific entry standards. They have a gruelling winter deployment ahead of them but are prepared and eagerly anticipating a busy sched- ule of JTAC training in the negative temperatures. We wish them the best of luck for their deployment.
Looking overseas, a 3-person detachment deployed to Slovenia on Ex ADRIATIC STRIKE as part of the UK teams headed up by 255 (Army Reserve) Bty. A high-profile event, 30 NATO countries

sent teams with 9 different fixed wing aircraft, 7 different helicop- ters and multiple UAS to support the CAS concentration entirely focussed on the training of JTACs. Teams took part in a round robin of stands: controlling on battle lanes, live air weapons ranges integrating CAS with live artillery and tanks, as well as a Bde HQ execute scenario with live aircraft, enemy and JTACs on the ground. 1 RHA performed well for the UK, proving interoper- ability at all levels with our NATO partners.
Ex FLASH TORRO, a CAS concentration working with the Span- ish Aviation and Parachute Brigades near Madrid, delivered vital training and currency opportunities for those JTACs recently off the course and about to sit their qualification checks. Working with pilots and JTACs from other nations poses unique challenges but also highlights our ability to understand and operate along- side each other with our common practices and procedures. It also provided valuable defence engagement for fostering better relationships with a close ally in the future.
