given a road to war brief along with an information pack, detail- ing friendly forces and the enemy picture. Syndicates then had 90 minutes to tactically plan an operation using the assets which they had available to them. They then presented their backbrief to veterans of the Falklands conflict or senior members of the Regi- ment. The standard of planning and delivery was incredibly high from all syndicates. Concurrently to this, the junior ranks received briefs from the Royal Artillery Export Support Team, where sol- diers saw some of the equipment the army is trialling and learned about some of the challenges and complexities of defence pro- curement and exports. In teams they had to deliver presentation on the piece of equipment which they believe the Royal Artillery should invest in and why.
The final day of Leadership Week consisted of a round robin of team sports organised by the SSI’s department. The regiment was split down in to mixed rank and departmental teams com- peting fiercely across a number of “sports day” stands consisting of relay races, crab football, touch rugby and more. The day con- cluded with a BBQ, the Commanding Officer’s closing address and prize giving. The week was a huge success and thoroughly enjoyed by all ranks. The lessons learnt throughout the week will enhance both the performance of individuals and the cohesion of the Regiment as we continue with our busy battle rhythm of exercises and deployments.
