the receiving end of much of the banter within the team.
OCdt Kite and OCdt Smith, along with Maj Black (our instructor from RMAS HQ), fought a race against the setting sun as we navigated our way up the confusing south face of Sass Pordoi, climbing amongst friable and uninspiring rock. Our efforts were of course redeemed with a sen- sational top-out right next to the cable car sta- tion, looking like proper mountaineers.
In the eyes of all expedition members, Ex DOLO- MITEN CADET was a resounding success. The team achieved their speci c mission of climbing at least three ‘classic’ multi-pitch routes and all Of cer Cadets have gained valuable experience in the AT planning process. All Of cer Cadets will take con dence from this in their ability to plan and execute AT related activities during regimen- tal duty. Furthermore, all Of cer Cadets have gained valuable logbook experience that provides a useful foundation upon which to gain new AT quali cations, which could bene t their soldiers in the future. The level of climbing challenged both OCdt Poulain and OCdt Kite in particular and took them out of their comfort zones. The expe- dition also provided opportunities for OCdt Smith and OCdt Rushby to develop their slightly more advanced climbing skills, particularly in relation
to abseiling and belay stance management. As a team, we are grateful for the funding received from the Sandhurst Trust. It facilitated an excel- lent expedition, which ran smoothly but required real graft, determination and concentration.
