                                                              VINTAGE FESTIVAL
comes to town
Oundle Vintage Festival has confirmed there will be three performance areas at the big event set for Saturday 18th May. Each stage will host a wide variety of acts to cater for all vintage tastes, some local and some from afar. The main event is free to enter, with loads on offer to those with vintage tastes or anyone just wanting a great day out.
On the ‘Main Stage’ located in The Market Place the T100’s will headline with some fabulous 50s rock and roll. Also featuring on the sound stage during the day will be local group Timeless who will sing musical favourites through the ages, Lily Taylor Ward a solo singer with a great line up of 40s and 50s songs, and the Jively Sisters with their Andrews Sisters tribute act will perform here too.
The Queen Victoria Hall will be transformed into a 40/50s café for the day with refreshments being served to a backdrop of musical performances. The entertainment starts at 10am with vintage DJ Colin Ray spinning a selection of records, yes 78s and some recorded on a drum, played on original equipment. Then follows Miss Lily Lovejoy and with a jazz set, then The French Connection a duo who play café sounds on sax and accordion, and also the Peterborough Flute Choir with a set of vintage melodies, and finally the Jively Sisters will complete the day at ‘Café QVH’.
The third performance venue is to be located in an alcove along West Street Venue where Vintage DJ Neil Endersby will provide
songs to dance to all through the day.
In between the records, there will be Scottish Dancers performing traditional reels, the Cross Key Morris Dancers, and also some Lindy Hop dance demonstrations by
The Rugcutters. Following the
main festival which comes to a close at 4pm, there is also an evening of
dancing in the Queen Victoria Hall with The Vintage Ceilidh, calling and live music supplied by Five String Thing. With a guarantee of
great fun, organisers are keen to stress that no experience is necessary to take part. This event is ticketed (see website) and attendees can bring their own refreshments and drinks.

 STOP PRESS
Oundle Vintage Festival organisers are delighted to announce that there will be a flypast by a Spitfire and a Hurricane at this year’s event from the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
Eyes will look skywards at around 1.45pm to enjoy the emotive sights and
sounds of WW2’s most iconic aircraft as they perform
a number of passes over
Oundle. With already so much going on at the one day
festival, organisers told us they were already very pleased with
the programme, but to get confirmation from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight
has really put the cherry on top.
