Chairman’s Report – Councillor Craig Wheeler
As we are amidst the festive
cheer our thoughts turn to
New Year’s resolutions and the challenges and opportunities
that we are likely to face during
2019. The financial crisis facing Northamptonshire’s County
Council is undoubtedly going to
impact Thrapston, but as your
Town Council we will strive to do
our utmost for the town wherever possible. We are collecting views
from residents as to what you would
like in a “Community Hub” in light of the uncertain future of the library, so do take this opportunity to have your say.
I’m pleased to report that in the first half of my Mayoral year in excess of £2,500 has been raised for Dementia UK.
A fantastic amount that shows how supportive we can be as a community for good causes. With some events still left for the rest of my year I’m sure we can make it to £3,000 or more!
I want to take the opportunity in this newsletter to thank all of the volunteers and community groups that support the Town Council at our events in the town. Without the help of volunteers
 Cllr Craig Wheeler
they would not be the success that they are. As a Council we are always looking for volunteers, so if you would like to be involved in the community do let us know.
I wish you a peaceful Christmas, a happy New Year and look forward to seeing you at the 2019 community events.
