Supporting Dementia UK, The Mayor’s Charity
Firstly, a big thanks to
our community for their tremendous support at Thrapston Fireworks Display – we raised just over £1,730 for the Mayor’s charity, Dementia UK.
Another ‘thank you’ goes
to the Corby Male Voice Choir
who donated the proceeds from the raffle held at their marvellous concert on 9th November to Dementia UK. They raised a fabulous £300.
We raised a staggering £409 from the raffle held at the Christmas Festival – congratulations to the winners of those amazing prizes!
We are equally delighted how many of
you supported the pantomime shows on the 8th December
- weren’t they great? ~ “Oh yes they were” ~ We hope you enjoyed them! Again,
all proceeds raised are for the Mayor’s chosen charity Dementia UK.
Continuing with the Mayor’s fundraising events we have the ever-
popular Quiz ‘n’ Chips on Saturday 26th January being held at Thrapston Primary School (due to the Plaza refurbishment closure). Tickets are £10 each which includes your chip shop supper and are available from the Town Council Office. Everyone is welcome, individuals or teams.
Following this and to round off the Mayor’s calendar of events we have
the Mayor’s Charity Ball taking place on Saturday 16th March at the Plaza where you can dance the night away to a live band following your three-course dinner. Details for this are still being finalised; it is anticipated that tickets will go on sale on Monday 21st January 2019.
GUIDE DOG UPDATE
Yet again the generous residents of Thrapston have demonstrated
their generosity with a total of £672.25 being collected for Guide Dogs as at 3rd
December. Doggy poo bags are available from the
Town Council offices.
