THRAPSTON CELEBRATES THE QUEENS PLATINUM JUBILEE
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend was enjoyed by many across Thrapston, with celebrations taking place right across the town. Businesses got into the regal spirit and took part in our ‘Best Decorated Shop Window’ competition, ensuring the High Street and beyond was awash with Union flags and red, white and blue décor.
The beacon in the Peace Park was lit
on the Thursday evening and there was a great turn out to listen to Thrapston Town Band and Thrapston Plaza Opera & Friends performing at the event. Residents enjoyed street parties with their neighbours over the weekend and the Sports Association held a family fun day on Saturday 3rd June with a BBQ, bouncy castles and a disco. Thrapston Plaza Opera also held a Jubilee Concert in St James’ Church featuring a selection of popular choral music accompanied by a string ensemble.
