Blenheim Company Dinner Night
On Friday 31st July Blenheim rallied at Vic- tory College for their Company Dinner Night. An evening full of social conversa-
tion and much-needed morale, which some can’t fully remember but none should forget. The theme of the night was ‘Away From Home’ in line with the current COVID situation, and enthusing speeches from OCdts Ray, King and Orban cap- tured the emotion of this theme.
The night started outdoors with music by the Army Medical Services band whilst the guests, including Brig Carr-Smith, Commander Sand- hurst Group, arrived. They were hosted by the engaging Cadets of Blenheim Company throughout the evening. Due to the COVID situ- ation we were confined to the Victory College courtyard, but luckily the weather held out for us just this once, although soaring temperatures meant blues wouldn’t have been the outfit of choice if we had a choice. A tremendous three-

course meal was served by the catering staff of Victory College, with musical entertainment provided in the intervals by OCdts Warren, McA- voy and Henderson. I don’t think anyone ever expected to hear the National Anthem played on a saxophone, and it was definitely a Sandhurst first.
The night wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for swift work from Maj Oxley and OCdts Hunter and Henderson, who organised it at short notice. Blenheim Company would like to thank the Commander Sandhurst Group and all other guests who attended. Furthermore, we would like to say a special thanks to the AMS band, Lee Hudson, Graham White and the Ara- mark staff for entertaining us, allowing us use of the venue and ensuring the swift running of the evening’s proceedings. All in all another very pleasant event for Blenheim Company with all OCdts in bed in time for curfew.
