From 2018 and through into early 2020, The Cen- tral Library took great pleasure in working with the Department of War Studies and more latterly the Department of Communication and Behav- ioural Science to host WARDIGS and CABS- DIGS. Contributing to the academic life of the Academy, these small group military history and leadership seminar events can seat about fifty people. We were very pleased to welcome the Comman- dant, Major General Paul Nanson CBE who gave a lively and highly engaging talk on leadership to Officer Cadets and assembled Academy staff. Noting the historic setting, and the fact he was delivering his talk while standing next to the West Point bust of General Eisenhower, Major Gen- eral Nanson drew on the core themes from the book, Stand up Straight: 10 Life Lessons from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Cadets took full advantage of this highly convivial event to probe and ask questions on various aspects of the practical and theoretical dimensions of command, leader- ship, morale and unit cohesion.
The global pandemic, which has raged throughout 2020 and into 2021, has of course impacted on Sandhurst training regimes and how we deliver and support the academic component. Determined

been pleased to welcome Pro-
fessor Christopher Duffy (Retired
from War Studies), Dr JP Harris (War Studies), Dr Paul Latawski (War Studies), Dr James Kitchen (War Studies), Dr Klaus Schmider (War Stud- ies) and Dr Aaron Edwards (Sandhurst Dept of Defence & International Affairs). Our visiting guest speakers have included academics from the King’s College London faculty at the Joint Services Command & Staff College, Goldsmiths College London, the University of Aberdeen, the United States Army War College, and the Free University of Berlin to name but just a few.

With conservative statistics showing a combined physical and electronic usage of the library and its resources of 10,131 in the period January- December 2019, the library has continued to deliver throughout the pandemic.
