We spent three days at Kvitavatn, technical skills that would be nec- essary to complete the sabotage route later that week. We tackled progressively challenging technical skiing over the three days, push- ing each day’s trip out further and across varying terrain. Each even- ing we dined with Glyn and spent time with Brian delving deeper into the fascinating story of the sabotage.

Exercise MALTA STINGRAY CADET

EXERCISE MALTA STINGRAY saw 12 Officer Cadets from Blenheim Company undertak- ing various PADI SCUBA diving courses in
different locations around Malta. The dive school was done through a company called Diveshack, who were very professional and also provided a structured fun learning environment.
For nine members of the group, it was their first time under the water, so they did the PADI Open Water course which, now fully qualified, enables
them to dive worldwide to a depth of 18 meters. Their first dive was in a local swimming pool as conditions were not suitable for a very first dive, but after that all diving took place in the sea. Skills learnt included buoyancy control, taking off the gear and putting it back on at depth, and out of air exercises. Time in the water was supple- mented by plenty of time in the classroom and homework in the evening, but the feeling was that it was well worth the long days.
