It was an early start, but with the help of 44 Sqn RLC we all made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare; the flights went smoothly, hire cars were collected, and by the evening we had made it to our accommodation in Polis, on the north west coast of the island.

Conditions were challenging through the week, with rough seas and tem- peratures in the water at 17-18 Celsius which is far from tropical in the SCUBA
diving world. It did not dampen spirits, however, with the new Open Water divers now keen to further their diving at the next opportunity.
Due to restrictions of not flying within 24 hours of your final dive, the group used the last day to explore the beautiful capital, Valletta. The Salut- ing Battery and the National War Museum were of particular interest, along with the history of the city.
