STOKESLEY DETACHMENT’S VERY OWN SPORTING SISTERS
By SSI Lewis Wilde
Meet Stokesley Detachment's answer to the Brownlee Brothers! Elder sister Corporal Holly McCosh took part in the County athletics and won a bronze medal. She then took part in the regional swimming event where she won three golds and was awarded a Commandant’s Medal for the fastest time.
Younger sister LCpl Zoe McCosh won gold in two of the events she took part in at County Athletics, going on to win gold at Regional and National levels and is currently ACF National Champion at both the Long Jump and 1500 metres.
She was determined to take part in the Regional Cross Country and persuaded her Mum to drive to Newcastle so she could take part, winning gold and progressing to Nationals. She was part of both Cross Country and Orienteering teams at Nationals; winning the Orienteering with her team and as a consequence her third ACF National Champion badge. In the Cross country LCpl McCosh was the first senior girl over the line.

Well done, Cadet CSM!

At Regional swimming along with her sister, she also came away with three gold medals. Unfortunately, due to the cancellation of the Regional and National events we do not know if there would have been more ACF Champion titles for either sister.
LCpl McCosh has signed up for every sporting event in this year’s calendar – who knows what 2023 will bring?”
