PROCLAMATION
OF KING
CHARLES III
Permission was granted for LC Ben Atkinson (Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet) and LC Alfie Holah (Lord Mayor’s Cadet) to appear on the Hull City Hall balcony during the Proclamation of King Charles III. An historic occasion and one that they will always remember.

Commemoration Service
at Hull Minster
Permission was granted at the last minute for the Unit to attend this Service at Hull Minster in commemoration of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. A very moving service and the Unit was honoured to be a special part of it, and included in the photo are two Police Cadets who were accompanying the High Sheriff of the East Riding of Yorkshire.
FORMER CADET – LOUKAS BRANTON
Loukas joined Hull Sea Cadets in July 2016 when he was 12 years old. He achieved many qualifications whilst attending, such as First Aid, Seamanship, Engineering, Food Hygiene, Stewarding and was part of the Drill Team representing TS Iron Duke, and also enjoyed plenty of weekend activities at Welton Waters and Camps.
He left us in 2019 to study for his GCSEs and then went on to complete an Apprenticeship at Welton Waters, which he especially enjoyed when it came to maintaining the boats and engines.
He applied to join the Royal Navy and started at HMS Raleigh on 6 June 2022 to commence
his Phase I Basic Training, passing out on the 9 September 2022. He went on to HMS Sultan on the 11 September 2022 to start Phase 2 in Marine Engineering.
On his second day at HMS Sultan Loukas was 1 of 9 chosen to be part of the Carriage Guard Team for Her late Majesty’s funeral. It was a great honour to be chosen and he was very proud to be looking after and maintaining the carriage which played such an important role in the funeral procession. His parents and family were obviously very proud.
The staff of TS Iron Duke and Welton Waters are delighted that the training Loukas received during his time with us has set him on such an excellent career path as well as making good friends and enjoying his new life in Portsmouth. Well Done, Loukas!
With HRH the Princess Royal thanking everyone. Loukas is the third young man on the left.
