Page 3 - Cadet Review Spring 2023
P. 3

 FOREWORD
Across the autumn all four of our Lord-Lieutenant’s Awards took place, although that of the East Riding of Yorkshire was delayed until November; and our new Lord- Lieutenant’s Cadets were appointed. Full details are contained within this edition and it is clear that all of the recipients have given a great deal of their time, expertise and dedication to their respective cadet forces over many years. Congratulations to all on their awards and appointments and we look forward to seeing the Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets on many occasions throughout the next year.
Meanwhile both Harrogate and Beverley Joint Cadet Training Centres have been officially opened by the Lord-Lieutenants of North Yorkshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire, providing first class training facilities for the Army and Air Cadets they are home to.
Also, across the last four months superb opportunities have been offered to the cadets including flying, gliding, Adventure Training and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions, all
of which look to have been great fun and stories on all of these activities are in the edition. Enjoy reading about our cadets across the region.
Many of the activities mentioned above have also featured on the RFCA website at https://www.rfca-yorkshire. org.uk in addition to their own media channels. Do take a look at the RFCA website too.
Please continue to send, high quality stories and pictures in for the magazine, which makes for excellent reading material, not just around Yorkshire and the Humber, but nationally. A plea though, do look closely at the quality of the pictures being sent with stories; many have been rejected as they were of poor quality or content and would detract from what would otherwise be good contributions. Keep sending your stories and do please note the copy dates below and the guidance notes on submission of articles.
