                                and captained football teams with Bournemouth academies. When not soldiering, he also enjoyed rugby and golf, then discovered the teamwork involved in Tug of War - eventually his team became Army Champions. He also competed in the Royal Signals snowboarding championships before Sandhurst. Several overseas and operational deployments (notably Op Newcombe) gave him a range of tech- nical and team leadership experience. He met his wife whilst he was in training at Blandford: they have a young child and, when able to, greatly enjoy attending the theatre and travelling around Europe. Conor joins 5 RIFLES.
2Lt NE Southby Noah was born at Frimley Park Hospital near Camberley, into an Army family. He attended Kingdown School in Warminster and then worked as a trainee butcher for almost two years, before joining the Army and, after ITC Catterick, posting to 2RIFLES. He deployed overseas with that Battalion (Op Cabrit, Estonia, Exercise Askari Storm, Kenya), gained promotion, and was in the Battalion boxing and shooting teams. He was also a member of the water polo team and has continued to swim competitively. His other hobbies and sports include hill walking, orienteering, shooting and equestrian. At home, with his father, he has worked as an instructor for Wiltshire Search and Rescue. At Sandhurst, Noah won a Commandant’s Coin for sustained and exemplary perfor- mance on the Commissioning Course and he joins 5 RIFLES.
