                                 to surpass the successes of the last round with Lt Emily Smith leading the first ever female infantry team in the championships.
Rugby continues to go from strength to strength at 2 RIFLES, with two players representing the Army First XV, a second-place finish at the Army 7s Cup, two players representing the Army Rugby League team and LCpl Qorowale being offered a professional contract in the English Rugby Premiership. The battalion rugby team made it to the semi-finals of the Army Premiership Championships, narrowly losing to the eventual winners. Our boxers once again impressed at the Army Individual Championship with Cpl Taylor being crowned the Army Light Heavyweight champion and a host of others narrowly losing to eventual winners in their individual categories.
WELFARE
The families of the battalion have had a packed welfare programme as most of their loved ones have been dispersed across the globe, ably supported by the bat- talion Welfare team. From a summer fete that included fairground rides, great food and music to monthly Sunday lunches and weekly coffee mornings, events have been well-attended and supported across the community. Whilst on Op INTERFLEX, the welfare team have also organised a plethora of funded activities ranging from cinema and zoo trips and vouchers for activities both in Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK, reflecting our dispersed network of families across
