BEAULIEU
SERIES
This is the third Beaulieu Series, providing racing for Members and non-members with boats on the Beaulieu River. Sometimes boats berthed elsewhere also join the racing. The other attraction of this Series is the post-race socialising in the Gins Clubhouse.
The schedule for all Beaulieu Racing is determined by a suitable depth of water on Beaulieu Bar, to allow the keelboats out to the racing area in The Solent and then back in!
In 2021 all the races took place on Thursday evenings; in 2022 the evenings were 2
Wednesdays, 2 Thursdays and then 2 Fridays. In 2023, racing was set for 3 Friday evenings and 3 Saturdays. The first 3 Races went well but Races 4 & 5 were abandoned, the former through lack of wind and the latter because of far too much. The best Race of the Series, # 6, on the day of the Summer Party, was sailed in champagne conditions.
