   CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
We offer a warm welcome to new Councillor Rachael McLuckie who was co- opted onto the Council at the September Full Town Council meeting.
Thank you to all who attended the Party in the Park, an amazing day and wonderful to see so many families and friends
gathered together again, I commented at one point that we had our own Henman Hill! A sincere thank you to the staff and Councillors who supported and made
the event happen and of course to Fifth Dimension and Vivid bands for their amazing sets, to the stilt walker who was so good with the children and of course the Kids Disco. The Tombola for my Charity Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service raised £246. Thank you to all who bought tickets and thanks to volunteers Gill and Sue for making it happen.
Barry and I recently had the pleasure
of attending Rushden Proms in the Park, performed by Rushden Town Band for the Mayor Melanie Coleman’s chosen charities. It was an uplifting performance of music
from musicals and a second half of Proms and flag waving. We were also invited to the Annual Civic opening of Rushden Feast which included a ride on the dodgems, a sight to behold of Mayors in their chains, followed by a fish and chip supper in a carriage at the railway station.
The Mayor of Higham Ferrers Christina Reavey invited us to her Civic service at the beautiful Church of St. Mary the Virgin, followed by refreshments in the historic Bede house along with other Civic dignitaries.
The Raunds Mayor’s Show hosted by Mayor Sylvia Hughes was an enjoyable afternoon of family fun with stalls, rides, a Birds of Prey display along with music and children’s entertainment, raising funds for her chosen charity Service Six.
Thrapston Town Band are performing a ‘Best of British’ concert for my charity in
the Plaza on Friday 12th November. Tickets priced at £6 will be available from the Town Council Office. Join us for what promises to be a great evening. Flags, refreshments and a bar will be available on the night. I hope to see you there.
Best wishes, Cllr Val Carter
