Malta Remembrance Day Parades
Five members from the Stockport Branch of the MRA were present at the Remembrance day parades on 11 and 13 November 2016 in Malta’s capital city, Valletta.
They joined the Royal British Legion (RBL) contingent and marched with them on the main parade held on 13 November. Following the parade they were invited back to the RBL club to meet their members and enjoy some light refreshments.
The 1st Battalion the Cheshire Regiment served on the Island from 1941 to 1943 during the siege of Malta GC and were responsible for the defence of the dockyard. Association members from Stockport have made this pilgrimage on several occasions over the last number of years.
