MRA Burton & District Branch Standard dedicated
The new Mercian Regimental Association standard for the Burton & District Branch was dedicated in November 2016.
The dedication was conducted by the Reverend Alison Redshaw at the Church of Emmanuel in Swadlincote.
On parade were Cpls D. Crisp and L. Cook.
Both new and old Standards were also on display at the annual end of year dinner evening.

On Saturday 29 October 2016 at The Armoury Stockport the Mercian Regiment Association Stockport Branch Standard was blessed and dedicated. The service was held before the annual East Cheshire Reunion. Over 150 serving and ex
members of the Mercian, Cheshire and other Regiments were present at the dedication. The dedication was conducted by Rev. Canon Elaine Chegwin Hall, from
St Georges Church, Stockport. St Georges Church holds the 6th Battalion The Cheshire Regiment Colours which were laid up in the 1920s.
Following the dedication those attending the reunion sat down to a traditional Cheshire hotpot supper, after which Maj Gen K Skempton CBE DL gave a very entertaining speech about the Cheshire Regiment and some of its members.
