                                appointed ADC to GOC Nigeria District West Africa before being posted in 1953 to the Depot in Derby as Adjutant. In 1955 he was posted as an Instructor to Eaton Hall in Chester before rejoining the 1st Bn in 1957 and went with it as Adjutant to Malaya and Singapore 1959 – 1961. In June 1961 Paul was appointed Staff Captain AG2(O) at the War Office until July 1963 when he took up his final appointment as a Company Commander at the Army Apprentices College in Harrogate until his retirement in 1967.
2LT Adrian Timothy James STANDFORD
2LT Adrian Timothy James STANDFORD of Westminster, London died on 3 May 2016. Adrian served in the ranks as a National Serviceman with the Rifle Brigade in 1954, before moving to Eaton hall as an Officer Cadet. He was commissioned into 1st
Bn, The Sherwood Foresters and joined it in Derna Cyrenacia (Libya) in September 1954. Adrian was then appointed Assistant Adjutant at Chiseldon, Wiltshire in September 1955. On leaving the Army he went up to Merton College, Oxford before commencing a banking career in the City of London
Mr John STEPHENSON
Mr John STEPHENSON, ex REME and a member of the Newark Branch WFRA died suddenly in August 2016. John was an ardent supporter of the Mercian Regiment and was instrumental in organising of one of the largest collection of parcels when the Bn’s were serving in Afghanistan.

24173032 Cpl Stanley Leslie STEWART of Brecon Powys died on 22 January 2016 aged 65. Les (Geordie) served with B Coy 1 WFR leaving the Regiment in September 1981
Pte (Tez) Terry THURSTON
23938785 Pte (Tez) Terry THURSTON
died in Pilgrims Hospice, Canterbury on 1 August 2015 aged 73. Tez joined 1st Bn The Worcestershire Regiment in September 1962 serving largely in the signal platoon, often involved in long range HF and VHF communications utilizing both voice and international morse code in which he excelled, finishing his service in September 1968 Tez served in Minden BAOR, Lydd, Dominica, Gibraltar, Tobruk North Africa, and Bulford. He is survived by his wife Pili, and children Gary and Verina.
Maj GB TULLET OBE
Maj GB TULLET OBE of Cutsey, Devon died on 16 December 2015 aged 74. Graham was commissioned into The Worcestershire Regiment in 1962 and served in the 1st Bn in Minden and later in Bulford. He also served at Depot Lichfield.
He was seconded to the Trucial Oman Scouts in 1967 and after retiring from the army in 1968 served on contract in the Abu Dhabi Defence Force for 4 years. He then managed a very successful company in India and while there worked tirelessly for the British Commonwealth Ex-Services League for which he was awarded the MBE which in 2003 was advanced to OBE.

WO2 (MTWO) Malcolm ‘Mel’ WALKER died tragically on 7 January 2016. Mel served with the KSLI and LI before joining 3 WFR as MTWO in the 1990’s
Pte John William WALTERS
24003345 Pte John William WALTERS of Bilborough, Nottingham died on 27 March 2017 aged 68. John enlisted into 1st Bn The Sherwood Foresters in 1966 and was in Drums Pl with which he served in UK, BAOR and Berlin. He continued with Drums Pl after amalgamation in 1 WFR. John was also a Battalion Boxer. He left the Regiment on 14 June 1973.

of Looe, Cornwall died on 28 February 2017 aged 60. Steve enlisted into 1st Battalion The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment in October 1974 and served in it with HQ Coy Drums Pl. He left the Regiment in October 1986.
Pte Terence WHITE
14714474 Pte Terence WHITE of Worksop died on 4 December 2015. Terence transferred to the Sherwood Foresters
from the General Service Corps and then transferred to Kings Shropshire Light Infantry in August 1944 before transferring back to the Sherwood Foresters in January 1947 where he remained until his discharge in January 1948.
Cpl Gordon WILLETTS
14880279 Cpl Gordon WILLETTS of Dudley died on 19 October 2016 aged 90. Gordon enlisted on 7 December 1944 at Bodmin and served with the RAF – VR from May 1944 to December 1944 when he transferred to the Worcestershire
Regiment and joined 8th Bn. In June 1945 he was posted to the 7th Bn, joining it in Calcutta, India. In March 1947 he transferred to 1st Bn Garrison Light Infantry and in September 1947 returned to UK where he was discharged at Aldershot on 26 March 1948. In civilian life he became a senior supervisor in the Fettling Dept in an Iron Foundry. He was Secretary of Dudley Branch and was instrumental in the fundraising and erection of the war memorial in the town.
WO2 (TQMS) Peter WILTSHIRE
23547712 WO2 (TQMS) Peter WILTSHIRE died on 3 April 2015 aged 73. Peter, who hailed from Chesterfield but moved to the West Midlands on leaving the Army, joined the Infantry Junior Leaders at Plymouth on 13 May 1958. In 1960 on
completion of Junior Soldiers training he joined the 1st Bn the Sherwood Foresters, in which he served for the next 10 years. On amalgamation, Peter completed the remainder his service with 1 WFR finishing with the rank of WO2 (TQMS) and left the Army on 3 March 1983. During his service, Peter served in Rifle Company, Headquarters Company, Mortar Platoon, Intelligence Section, the Army Youth Team and Junior Soldiers, Troon. Peter and was posted to Germany, the UK, Libya, Belize and Cyprus. He held the UN Cyprus medal and GSM clasp NI. After leaving the Army Peter worked as a Regional Manager and an Assurance Officer and was a staunch member of the Derby Branch WFRA

14714234 Pte Roland WINTERTON of Leicester died on 4 March 2017 aged
92. Roland transferred into the Sherwood Foresters from the Royal Welsh Fusiliers in 1945 and was discharged in 1947
Cpl Dennis Thomas WRIGHT
22656272 Cpl Dennis Thomas WRIGHT aged 82 of St Johns Worcester died on 22 April 2016. On 22 April 1952, Dennis was recruited into 1st Bn The Worcestershire Regiment at Worcester and went on to serve in Malaya in
Support Company /Anti Tank .It is noted in his discharge that he played football for the Bn on several occasions. Dennis was discharged on 21 April 1955 serving another 4 years on reserve . Dennis worked in engineering at the Mecco works, Worcester for 26 years then proceeded in the building trade.
Lt HD WYNTER
Lt HD WYNTER of Myrtle Bank, Australia died on 29 November 2016 aged 84.
He was commissioned as a National Serviceman in The Worcestershire Regiment in 1952 and served in Malaya with the 1st Bn. On completing his TA commitment with the 7th Bn he emigrated to Australia
