                                6 Platoon
My time as the Officer Commanding
6 Platoon is now drawing to a close and I only have six weeks left of my 22 months in command of the platoon. We’ve had a busy training year building up to BATUS, but I’m sure that has been covered by the OC. Therefore, I’ll tell you about the most important thing in 6 Platoon; which is not what we’ve been up to, but about the men that have been doing it.
We spent the tail end of 2014 gaining Warrior qualifications, so January was our first chance to test ourselves on the Annual Crew test. Lance Corporal Smith and Private Pritchard - both new to the turret - got a level 6 (the highest score possible), showing that even though we were a newly
created armoured infantry platoon, we certainly had the potential to do well.
CT1 in January was the first opportunity that our newest arrivals from ITC (Private’s Howden, Willis and Whaley) got to see a Warrior, and under the guidance of their mentors (Private’s Pritchard, Simcox and
