As another show season comes to an end, we re-commenced our DA meetings for the final talk of 2024. Our Lady Chair, Sandra Hall, came and gave us a talk
on “Growing in her polytunnel”. Sandra gave us an informative talk about her experience of growing in a polytunnel, including the types of crops she’s grown to date.
Sandra’s talk also covered some background to her and her husband Mark’s development of the garden at the property they have lived at for the past 30 years or so. It was really interesting to see how it has changed over that time!
We also held our competition class – one dish of vegetables, numbers per the Mini Show schedule. We had a bumper number of entries this year and had to split the class in three – 20 point, 18 point and under 18 point vegetables!
Our final meeting of the year was our AGM, where we made plans for 2025 over some light refreshments.
We still have a vacant Secretary position on our Essex DA committee. If anyone is interested in taking up this role, please get in touch.
