                                   Cadets Preparing for the Final Parade.
C/Sgt Phil Wood. The cadets have been involved in Canal cleaning and maintenance working alongside the Canal Trust at local stretches of canals. Many strange items have been found, including a Mountain bike, wheels, and shopping trolleys.
The Presentation of New Colours
On June 6th Officers, CFAVs and Cadets had the privilege of being on parade for the Presentation of Colours by the Colonel in Chief, HRH The Prince of Wales at the Sixways Stadium, Worcester. We provided a Guard of 21 Cadets, and the guard was

led by Maj Jeff Hyde who was also present at the WFR Colours Presentation at Tidwoth in 1995.
Promotions
The Battalion welcomes newly promoted 2Lt Ann Parrott to the Officers Mess.
2Lt Parrott is the first female Mercian Officer. She is currently the Detachment Commander of Halesowen Platoon.

Staffordshire and West Midlands (North Sector) ACF continues to be ever successful in attracting young people from within the County structure who have an interest in the military way of life.We remain the largest ACF County in the Brigade and can be rightly proud of our achievements to date. We encourage our cadets and Adult Instructors to wear their uniforms with pride, remembering that the Regular and Territorial Army are thin on the ground, and whether they are bag packing at their local supermarket or helping out the British
White Water Rafting on the Durance River from St Clement to Embrum
Legion, we are now often the only “military” footprint in our local community.
County Headquarters located inside Beacon Barracks, Stafford, is made up
of four Companies, each averaging ten Detachments with Company Headquarters located at Walsall, Wolverhampton, Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent. Ten of these detachments take particular pride in wearing the Mercian Eagle.
Staffordshire & West Midlands (North Sector) Army Cadet Force has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service 2013 for its work in training
cadets – to develop their leadership and citizenship skills and help them to become active members of the community. The Award is given for outstanding achievement by groups of volunteers who regularly devote their time to helping others in the community, improving the quality of life and opportunity for others and providing an outstanding service.
The Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire Ian Dudson CBE formally presented a certificate signed by The Queen and an exclusive commemorative crystal during Annual Camp in August. Commandant,
