YNW SAYS GOODBYE TO CADET RSM KENNEDY
On the eve of her 18th birthday on March 14th, the time came for Cadet RSM Olivia Kennedy to bring to a close her highly successful time as a cadet.
Having joined the ACF in 2018, she attended Junior Annual Camp in 2019... and barely stopped for breath thereafter!
After the end of Covid restrictions, she resumed face-to-face activities with even more energy than before, and made the most of every opportunity that the Army Cadet Force had to offer.
She is the embodiment of the ACF's motto, 'To Inspire To Achieve' and her contribution to both the County in general, and B Company in particular, was exemplary.
Cadet RSM Kennedy will now focus on her A-level studies in order to succeed in her ambition to attend Edinburgh University in the autumn.
 Welcome to Knaresborough Detachment!
Knaresborough Detachment hosted a 'Welcome Event' on 22nd February to showcase the benefits of membership to the next batch of potential recruits.
The cadets and adult volunteers demonstrated basha building, patrolling and problem-solving skills and the potential new members were encouraged to join in.
Cadet CSM Phoebe Clark was also in attendance to show her support - and was put to work with problem solving!
A great evening, which will definitely start a new wave of recruits for the unit.

New Cadet RSM for Yorkshire (N&W) ACF
Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) Phoebe Clark has been appointed as the new Cadet RSM for our County.
On Thursday 21st March, the Commandant, Colonel Hugh Gell, and RSM Terry Yates visited Strensall Detachment to present the new rank slide to the (now) former Cadet CSM of B Company.
While making the presentation, the Commandant noted that Cadet RSM Clark was the fourth Cadet RSM to be appointed from Strensall Detachment, perhaps a record for a single detachment. She is preceded by Major Amber Chadwick, Lt Natalie Dixon and Miss Olivia Kennedy.
The promotion was a surprise to Cadet RSM Clark, and to her father, Captain Mal Clark, who is B Company's Permanent Support Staff (PSS). He is a former RSM of the Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire, so reaching this esteemed rank certainly appears to run in the family!
