Sam leaned back in his chair waiting for a response. Badger tweaked his ears, scratched his chin and finished his drink.
‘I apologise, Paris. If, and I repeat, if this scheme of yours proved to be viable we would have to clothe the doll, colour and curl the hair AND make a pair of large wings.’
‘No, Mr Badger. Sophia can drop her wings down her back – the deer wouldn’t necessarily expect wings. We might even be able to borrow a dress from Sophia but the hair might be a problem. Jess and I would love to do that.’
‘How do you plan to capture the deer, Sam? He can approach Sophia at any time, lift the crown and leap away through the trees,’ suggested Badger.
‘Well, Wisdom will have to put their thinking caps on and devise a plan to catch it,’ replied Sam, shrugging his shoulders.

Charlie was tidying his daughters’ bedrooms and feeling guilty. Two travel bags had been stuffed full of clothes and were sitting on their beds. This weekend, he’d promised to take Chloe and Isla to see Dolly Partridge further down the valley. They were going to stay overnight at her hotel and were looking forward to having an adventure. Whenever he visited, Charlie made himself useful by doing odd jobs around the hotel but this weekend his presence was required
