Lunchtime passed, and the afternoon drifted into early evening. It was an anxious time for the fairies as they waited in the enchanted garden for Sophia to appear. She did so, led by the gnomes. She sat on her flowered throne and spoke to them with her usual air of calm. Only Aria noticed that she trembled for a second when she waved the fairies off.
