Yappy Pigeon had been watching the mink during the afternoon by the wooden bridge. If the mink made any effort to head into the wood, the pigeon was to fly, coo and land in the centre of the enchanted garden as a warning to the waiting animals.
The scene was set. Sophia slipped away to her residence as planned.
