LOCAL HERO WINNERS
This month there are two Local Hero winners. We received this email from an Oundle lady...
I would really like to nominate Dave Bancroft- Turner. Every day since the pandemic began, he has been flying a different flag at his house in Glapthorn Road. He also puts out an information board about the
flag and its country. This makes daily exercise more enjoyable, as well as educational! Dave truly is a local community champion.
...and so Dave received a £25 voucher (for The Barn Garden Centre) and his certificate. Indeed when I visited to give him his prize, it was the Greek flag fluttering in the breeze – to celebrate Greek Independence Day (25th March).
Who knew a flag could bring so much joy – well done Dave!
...and our second winner this month never stops! She helps out with lots of different community projects, all over the town...
I’d like to nominate the irrepressible Camilla Sherwin. Before lockdown she was involved with lots of community activities – Refill Revolution, Repair Cafe, Oundle Cinema to name a few – but since lockdown she has been a constant source of motivation and energy to so many causes. She has arranged litter picks, cleaned the local bus stops and never failed to be kind and smiling every time. She is a bundle of energy and nothing to help others is too much trouble.
...and so Camilla received a £25 voucher (for The Barn Garden Centre) and her certificate. Even when I went to deliver her prize, she was organising a litter pick on the Benefield Road. She really is unstoppable!
Well done Camilla – you are such a great asset to the Oundle community – thank you!
