“I WAS RUNNING ALONG the Ridgway enjoying the fantastic scenery when I saw what looked like two paragliders with large fans on their backs just stooging around at about 500 feet above the Whitehorse.
I have own xed wing aircraft for about 15 years but the simplicity and freedom (no R/T required) of paramotoring really appealed. After a little research, I found that the nearest school was only 20 minutes away at Membury and my
summer project was set. Buying the
kit was not cheap and required a deep breath and a very understanding wife; but that done, I now y whenever I
can get away, for around £5 per hour; for, relatively, cheap enjoyable ying
it can’t be beaten. There is a great community with regular y-ins, if that
is your thing; or, if you just want to
get away from it all, you have a ying machine that will pack into the boot of a family hatchback.” Philip Arnold ‘Station Commander Apr 15 -Nov 16’
