 The Victors
Delgado of Spain at anchor, they showed guile and raw courage, learning quickly to bounce back from early defeat against the ever powerful B Division to ruin A’s chances of victory with the nal ‘end’. ‘Silver’ in the tug o’ war clearly buoyed C’s golfers on their nal few holes, with Lt Col Chris Hakes and his team coming home victorious.
Ahead of the nal rowing event back in the Forum, C Division also won the coveted fancy dress award by a committee majority decision, for which highlights included Caligula in goal in the football and multiple togas across the events whose risk assessments permitted them. Sadly for A and C Divisions, the rowing was never really a contest. All dressed in white, B’s oarsmen and women rowed with total
assurance throughout, crossing the line in front of
the whole course, staff and the Director. To great cheers, Lt Cdr Samantha Truelove accepted the Sports Olympiad cup from the Director, Cdre Jeremy Blunden. It had been a thoroughly enjoyable and successful event – well planned and well executed by the event leads, and well supported by the divisional captains and all the students. Congratulations to all.
