Most famous person you’ve ever had in your shop? Rowan Atkinson used to visit the shop occasionally when his children were at Oundle School. It always caused amusement whenever he came in.
Christmas is coming... beef or turkey?
I grew up always having turkey on Christmas Day so like to stick with tradition, despite the rest of the family wanting beef. However, as we will be a smaller gathering this year, we may go for a goose.
What makes Seven Wells different? Our strong selling point is our farm to fork journey for our beef. The cattle are born and reared on the farm in Stoke Doyle and finally butchered here in Oundle. We also purchase lambs locally – provenance is important to us.
Who makes you laugh? I think that Peter Kay is very funny and appeals to my sense of humour. Gavin and Stacey is very entertaining too.
Dinner out or at home? At home, family favourite – steak and chips, preferably cooked by my husband Robert.
...and a favourite tipple to go with it?
I have inherited my late Father’s love of gin – Gordons, schweppes tonic and plenty of ice and lemon. Also enjoy a glass of white wine – one my favourites at moment is Sauvignon Blanc ‘Balbuzzard’ from Amps Fine Wines.
If money was no object, where would you visit? New Zealand – friendly people, stunning scenery and most people who visit want to return. Argentina is also on the bucket list.
Dog, cat or iguana – who’s at home? Two dogs, Boss (labrador) and Webster (border terrier) – I like cats but our dogs don’t!
Jaffa cake or Hobnob? I love chocolate so very happy with either, but Hobnobs are a favourite here at the shop.
