As you know, the NVS Membership historically ran from 1st Jan to 30th Dec each year, with the majority of our members paying manually (i.e., by cash or cheque) but as previously reported, we now run for a rolling12 months from the point at which you joined and a high proportion of our members now may by card or direct debit, which is great for management of your membership. For your information:
MANUAL RENEWAL Included in your SV (Autumn 2021 edition) was a flier - your Manual Membership Renewal Form for 2022. We would politely ask that you do consider switching to card payment or Direct debit for 2022, however if you wish to continue with manual payment, that’s also fine, thank you.
Please can you ensure that you return your form and cheque to Norman Dickinson as listed on the Form and please make any cheques out to “National Vegetable Society” (not NVS). NOTE only members
who are listed as paying manually for 2021 will have been sent a renewal form flier.
DIRECT DEBIT (DD) Ideally, we would like to encourage as many of our members as possible to switch over to pay your membership subscription via Direct Debit, which you can now easily do via our new website. A big thankyou to those who have already switched to DD payment, we have seen an increase to almost 700 members so far. We use a company called Gocardless for the Direct Debit payment system.
CARD PAYMENT RENEWAL ONLINE You can also now renew your membership paying by bank card and you can easily do this online via our new website too. This makes it quick and easy for you and it still reduces workload for our volunteers who process your membership. A big thankyou to those who have already switched to Card payment, this is
currently sitting at over 385 members to date. We use a company called Stripe for the card payment system.
STANDING ORDERS We still have 5 members who have still not replaced their standing order with another form of payment. Can you please look at addressing this during the course of this year as it causes a big amount of extra work.
GIFT AID Please can we ask that you double check your gift aid status and update it if required. If you require to cancel your gift aid declaration at any time (e.g., if your income tax paid is less than the amount the NVS claims on your donation level or you no longer pay tax), please let the society know when you return your form. You can now access your own data preferences and to update your gift aid preference via our new website.
