Midland Branch Vice Chairman’s Report
I find myself in the position as Vice Chairman of the Midland Branch Society to write this quarter’s report. This came about with the resignation of Our Lady Chair Mrs June Davies at the end of 2021.
Our first committee meeting on 15th January at Kidderminster fell short of committee owing to ill health and covid, so sadly the required quorum of 5 could not be met, however at time of
such time I am happy to continue with the support of the rest of the committee in my role of Vice Chair.
I am happy to report that the Branch has a very busy year ahead with shows.
Our first major event is the Malvern Spring Festival 5th to 8th May. We as a committee grow seeds and plants for the stand and any help from members
To support and organise all these events, the Midland Branch Committee holds regular meetings throughout the year. It’s not an onerous task and can be fun, so why not come along and see what’s happening.
We have all these events in 2022 for new and existing members to introduce themselves to committee persons and we look forward to meeting you. Keep an eye on the web site for events and any updates in these times of covid, meanwhile I wish you all the very best of health

held at Malvern this year in late September, this again is a three-day show and will need willing members to man this show, as we are a small committee any willing help would be most appreciated for setting up, stewarding, and packing up after.
West Midland DA Report
In my position as acting chairman by the time you read this edition of Simply Veg our committee
will have held our AGM and
had a lecture by Darren Rudge in November 2021 to get our meetings started again.
We have already booked a stand at Gardeners World Live at the NEC with theme of Growing Vegetables in Containers and would welcome people to grow plants for sale and display.
So, if you are interested in helping, please do contact me so that I can provide seeds etc. We would also welcome both NVS members and non-members to our meetings and if you require a copy of our 2022 programme, please contact me and I will send you a copy.
Owing to the size of the current committee, we would welcome anyone who would like to join the committee and provide us with new ideas.
We were successful at the Gardeners World event held in August and succeeded in gaining a silver medal and raising funds for the running of the DA,
