                                THE GAZETTE QARANC 3
  Chairman’s Message
This is my final message as Chairman of the Association... where have those 8 years gone? The Board of Trustees divided into subcommittees of Executive, Governance, Chattels and Media & communications – have been working very hard over the past few years to improve our management and progress the development of the Association, making it fit for the 21st century
The Board of Trustees are also seeking greater involvement from the Branches – we have consulted with Branch Chairs on the future development of the Association and several have taken the opportunity to attend one of the quarterly meetings and observe the work being undertaken.
We are proposing a re-write of our Constitution, which you can read about in the next magazine and which will be finalised at our AGM next year, we have seen the successful launch at our new website in May and the QARANC plot at Arboretum now has beautiful marble benches to enhance the experience of your visit.
The membership of the Association continues to grow, with one new Branch launched another about to rise from the ashes of an old one. The Gazette continues to go from strength to strength and I would encourage all our membership old and new to not only enjoy their reading but also consider writing an article for others to enjoy.
In closing I would like to say it has been a great privilege to serve as your Chairman, I have been very lucky to have had the support of a wonderful group of colleagues who have served as trustees during this tie. I would like to express my thanks to them but in Particular Judy Evans and Heather Duncombe who have provided such sterling support to me as General secretary.
I will certainly miss the involvement with the Corps and the Association at this level but whilst this phase of my ‘military career’ is ending, my connection with the Association will continue. I wish you all the very best for the future.
