Keep your children entertained ..........................................
Although her shop on the High Street may be closed, lovely Mrs Jollys is always on hand to help keep children entertained...
SALT DOUGH
Try modelling with Salt Dough. It’s safe for all ages as long as an adult does the baking!
Recipe:
1 cup plain flour (250g) 1⁄2 cup table salt (125g) 1⁄2 cup water (125ml)
Method:
1. Preheat the oven to its lowest setting and line a baking sheet with baking paper.
2. Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl. Add the water and stir until it comes together into a ball.
3. Transfer the dough to a floured work surface and shape into your chosen model. You could roll it out and cut out shapes, numbers or letters using cookie cutters, or make any kind of model you can think of.
4. Put your finished items on the lined baking sheet and bake for 3 hrs or until solid.
5. Leave to cool and then paint.

Ideas: You could make...
• Pretend cakes and sandwiches for a teddy bear’s picnic
• Chunky beads to make jewellery (make sure you create the hole for the thread before you bake!)
• Create a flat circle shape and gently press your baby’s foot or hand print, put a hole in the top and create a hanging decoration keepsake
• Tealight candle holder – push a tealight into your shape and remove before you bake – you could press Hama beads into the dough, and these can remain while baking
