It’s been a very busy year for 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery (1RHA) PT department supporting Op CABRIT and various Bde level exercises; the PT department has played a pivotal role in
ensuring the Regt is both physically and mentally prepared.
In Dec 23 we delivered the Commanding Officer’s Challenge. Under the instruction of the AAPTIs the troops conducted a quick familiarisation before competing in a head-to-head time trial on the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) obstacle course. The groups were split across all ranks with JNCO’s taking the lead, developing their leadership and communication skills.
Physically challenging, it was a fantastic opportunity to partake in a quality obstacle course and work together as a team.
In Feb 24 the PT Dept was tasked to deliver a ‘green PT’ serial for the annual Op TEAMWORK Day. I wanted to bring out the quali- ties pertinent to teamwork whilst also delivering an enjoyable and inclusive competition. The groups were split into 5 teams each led by an AAPTI and an IC (JNCO). Each group were tasked to transport their equipment (including log) to 5 different locations on Larkhill Garrison once deciphering a riddle. At each loca- tion the teams had to successfully answer a variety of questions
