8 Viewed from the Thrapston end of the pedestrian walkway over the Nine Arch Bridge in December
1998, the remains of Thrapston Wharf buildings are still standing. A bit nearer town than this is a footpath which leads to
a walk beside the River Nene. Now the Nine Arches Estate, over 100 years ago this was the venue for Thrapston Sports, an annual athletics event which drew competitors from both this country and the Continent.
6 Before the warehouses were built
at the top of Huntingdon Road, the back road to Titchmarsh looked like
this in 1998 with a farm at the top end of the road before the left turn towards the village.
7 Now the Market Road entrance to Harrisons Walk, this red brick detached house, which belonged
to Mrs. Kirby, was photographed in 1997. It was demolished in 2001 (shown below) to create the opening into the estate which covers the old Crow Peck industrial site (second photograph from the Gordon Borrett archive).
