Catering Department
The Light Dragoons Catering Department have been busy keep- ing the regiment well fed and watered wherever we have been operating throughout the year. This has ranged from supporting the regiment on CAST exercises, Exercise Wessex Storm and Op Newcombe pre-deployment train- ing in Norfolk. This has been on top of our normal duties in the Officers and Sgt and WOs’ messes and the Hipswell centre on Gaza Barracks. Our year has therefore ranged from a wind- swept Salisbury Plain, to mess dress in Yorkshire.
Thedepartmenthasalsoseenalarge number of changes, with SSgt Errington and Sgt’s Brown and Gurung all join- ing the Sgt and WOs’ Mess in 2021, and Cpls Mills, Kgaogano and Pte Elliot all arriving towards the end of the year.
A highlight for the department was the AT conducted in the Lake District, which saw the team climb the likes of Red Pike and Great Borne, as well as a few days of mountain biking. A wel- come change from the usual noise and tempo of life in the kitchen.
