Finally, a recently acquired photograph in my collection of the Nine Arch Bridge taken on 19th August 1955 with the Woolpack
in the background. There is no pedestrian walkway and traffic lights were obviously considered unnecessary at this time. The river appears in need of dredging and water lily pads are thriving in the slow-moving water.
